The launch earlier this month took the sporting world by storm. The 
teaser video of Chelsea FC’s stars showing what it means to be committed
 to the club received over 1.5 million hits on YouTube worldwide.</div>

The campaign, which featured John Terry, Juan Mata, David Luiz, Gary 
Cahill, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Petr Cech was a
 break from the norm and posed the question to Chelsea fans: it’s blue. 
What else matters? – a call to action to order the shirt without seeing

Sementara, gagasan tentang peringatan <b>Hari Bumi</b> mulai disampaikan oleh <b>Gaylord Nelson</b> sejak tahun 1969. Saat itu <b>Gaylord Nelson</b>
 memandang perlunya isu - isu lingkungan hidup untuk masuk dalam 
kurikulum resmi perguruan tinggi. Gagasan ini kemudian mendapat dukungan
 luas.<br />
<br />
Dukungan ini mencapai puncaknya pada tanggal <b>22 April 1970</b>. Saat itu sejarah mencatat jutaan orang turun ke jalan, berdemonstrasi dan memadati <b>Fifth Avenue</b> di <b>New York</b> untuk mengecam para perusak bumi. Majalah <b>TIME</b> memperkirakan bahwa sekitar 20 juta manusia turun ke jalan pada 22 April 1970.</div>

Moment ini kemudian menjadi tonggak sejarah diperingatinya sebagai <b>Hari Bumi</b> yang pertama kali. Tanggal 22 April juga bertepatan dengan musim semi di <b>Northern Hemisphere</b> ( belahan bumi utara ) sekaligus musim gugur di belahan bumi selatan. Sejak itu, pada tanggal 22 April setiap tahunnya <b>Hari Bumi</b> ( <i>Earth Day</i> ) diperingati.<br />

Sejarah mencatat, <b>Hari Bumi</b> merupakan kampanye untuk mengajak 
orang peduli terhadap lingkungan hidup. Gerakan untuk meningkatkan 
kesadaran dan apresiasi terhadap planet yang ditinggali manusia ini 
yaitu bumi. Hari Bumi telah menjadi sebuah gerakan global yang mendunia 
hingga kini. Pelaksanaannya di seluruh dunia dikordinasi oleh <b>Earth Day Network’s</b>, sebuah organisasi nirlaba beranggotakan berbagai LSM di seluruh dunia.<br />
<br />
<b>PBB</b> sendiri memilih tanggal 20 Maret saat di mana matahari tepat diatas <i>khatulistiwa</i> sebagai peringatan Hari Bumi. Ini mengacu pada ide “<b>hari bagi orang - orang Bumi</b>” yang dicetuskan aktivis perdamaian <b>John McConnell</b>. Hari yang lebih dikenal sebagai “<b>Hari Bumi Equinoks</b>”
 ini diperingati PBB setiap tahunnya sejak 21 Maret 1971. Namun PBB juga
 mengakui tanggal 22 April sebagai hari bumi yang dilaksanakan secara 
global. PBB secara resmi merayakannya 22 April sebagai “<b>International Mother Earth Day</b>“.</div>

Menurut berbagai analisis ledakan ini muncul karena bergabungnya 
generasi pemrotes tahun 60 - an ( sebagian terbesar adalah pelajar, 
mahasiswa, sarjana ) yang terkenal sebagai motor gerakan anti - perang, 
pembela hak - hak sipil yang radikal. Sebuah perkimpoian antara 
pemberontakan 60 - an dan kesadaran lingkungan tahun 60 - an. <br />

<b>Hari Bumi</b> yang pertama ini di <i>Amerika Serikat</i> merupakan 
klimaks perjuangan gerakan lingkungan hidup tahun 60 - an untuk mendesak
 masuk isu lingkungan sebagai agenda tetap nasional. Kini peringatan 
Hari Bumi telah menjadi sebuah peristiwa global. Para pelaksana 
peringatan <b>HARI BUMI</b> menyatukan diri dalam jaringan global masyarakat sipil untuk Hari Bumi yakni <b>EARTH DAY NETWORK</b> yang berpusat di Seattle.</div>
